Silence Natalya Borisovna rhythmic gymnastics. Natalya Tishina spoke about Olympic champion Anastasia Maximova

At the end of 2013, the prestigious “Best in Sports” award was received by the senior rhythmic gymnastics coach of the Nizhny Novgorod Olympic Reserve School, Natalya Tishina. Her student Anastasia Maksimova won three gold medals at the Summer Universiade in group exercises, and then celebrated her triumph at the World Championships. However, this is not Natalya Borisovna’s first coaching success; her students brought home four gold medals from the Olympic Games.

I really don’t like cheering for my students competing at major competitions. It's always hard for me to watch them. I went only once as a spectator to the World Championships in Tokyo and since then I have decided not to repeat this experience. It is much easier for me to work with athletes at international championships - to prepare for the performance, to be close to them and share the excitement, joy or grief, but not to watch from the stands. I prefer to watch girls’ performances live or recorded alone - I find a secluded place and deal with all the emotions myself.

Coach, mentor, mother

In the gym, I am first and foremost a coach, and the girls are students. This approach allows us to establish a line that makes it possible to work, demand full dedication and objectively evaluate each gymnast. And outside the training space, we communicate like ordinary people, and I often have to try on the role of a mother. In the end, they are ordinary girls who love to cry, and we try to solve all problems related to school, health, and family together.

We have practically no secrets from each other.

Traditions of the Nizhny Novgorod school

I had an excellent coach, Taisiya Timoshenko, one of the founders of rhythmic gymnastics. She studied at the Leningrad Institute named after

P.F. Lesgafta was right at the time of the formation of our sport, and in 1949 Taisiya Kirillovna came to Gorky, where she began to develop rhythmic gymnastics. My mother brought me to train with her in 1957, although there was a time when I went into artistic gymnastics, but then I returned to rhythmic gymnastics. I took a lot from Taisiya Kirillovna: tactical, technical and purely human qualities.

Excellent gymnasts

The coaching staff of the Olympic Reserve School requires its students to perform well in general education subjects. Rhythmic gymnastics is a youth sport in which a career ends by the age of 20–23. Next, new horizons await girls, and if we do not motivate them to study and intellectual development, they will not be ready for a big life. The careers of our graduates develop in different ways: some remain coaches in rhythmic gymnastics or go to work as fitness instructors, but among them there are biologists, doctors, and lawyers.

From individual to group championship

Becoming a singles athlete in rhythmic gymnastics is an incredibly difficult task, because there are only two places on the team, and they are occupied by such natural leaders as, for example, Alina Kabaeva and Evgenia Kanaeva. I always want to give my students a life in sports, so I transfer talented girls to group exercises, where they can compete for five vacancies on the team. Elena Posevina, for example, also started out as an individualist, but if she had continued to develop in the individual championship, she would hardly have won two Olympic golds. The group section is perhaps even more difficult than the individual section, because you have to work in a team.

Four Olympic cycles

Russia is the birthplace of rhythmic gymnastics, and the Nizhny Novgorod school ranks among the leading places in the country. Four Olympic cycles with gold medals, I think, are the best confirmation of my words. It is impossible to discern champion talent in a child. First, of course, you evaluate appearance, then natural characteristics - flexibility and mobility of joints, and, finally, emotionality. However, even the greatest talent can be ruined by elementary laziness.

New tournaments for Olympic champions

Our famous students - Irina Belova, Elena Posevina, Daria Shkurikhina - are going to hold a tournament of Olympic champions in rhythmic gymnastics for young children in April. They try to keep in touch with us even after finishing their sports career. Young people always greet them very warmly when they come, because the Nizhny Novgorod champions are a standard for them.

22.08.2016 Natalya Tishina spoke about Olympic champion Anastasia Maksimova Irina Lebedeva

“Anastasia Maksimova became an Olympic champion only yesterday, and today the working day has not even started. Call me back at least at ten o’clock,” they answered at the reception desk of the Olympic Reserve School early on Monday morning. But the site’s correspondent did not wait for ten hours and went to reconnaissance on the ground.

In the rhythmic gymnastics hall, where the next training was taking place, I was able to communicate with my Nizhny Novgorod mentor - Honorary Master of Sports, Honored Trainer of Russia, coach of the national team at the 2004 Olympic Games, Natalya Tishina. However, this time it was not possible to have a calm conversation, because Natalya Borisovna’s phone was literally bursting with calls.

Do you see what's happening? Now they call from the radio asking for the number of the costume designer. You know that the costumes were designed by Marina Gogua from Nizhny Novgorod? And so from the very early morning. And I don’t refuse anyone’s comments, I understand everything perfectly,” she smiles and talks about the experiences of that day.

Were you very worried? Not that word! After all, the Russian national team included not only my student, but also my daughter, stage coach Tatyana Sergaeva. We gathered in a large group - me, my granddaughter who had flown in from Italy, Tanya’s husband, and other close friends. We watched TV in complete silence, literally holding our breath.

- Did you have to worry a little during qualifying? After all, not everything went smoothly...

Yes, we were nervous in qualifying. One of the girls dropped her mace. We look - the poor thing is crying. Tatyana, on the contrary, is calmly waiting for her assessment. Of course it was stressful.

- And then everything fell into place...

When their Olympic performance ended, we jumped up and screamed and started hugging. Something incredible was happening - some were clapping, some were screaming, some were crying. I have tears in hail from happiness. Of course, as soon as they finished the run, it immediately became clear that no one would perform better. There were still a few performances left. But, having seen the ratings, we already realized that no one else would receive such awards - this is impossible.

Have you already thought about how you will greet the triumphants?

Now the athletes will have a busy program, there will be a reception with the president... But we asked that Tatyana and Anastasia still fly to Nizhny Novgorod for one day. Are we preparing a surprise? Haven't discussed it yet. They themselves are surprises for us ( laughs). I don’t know if there will be any official events, but the government has already asked when they will arrive. For now we are just waiting for them to hug and congratulate them.

- Tell us how gymnasts train.

They train, one might say, around the clock. Morning training, then a break. Next is another training session, after lunch – another one. They train until they complete everything they set out to do. If there is a certain task, then no one will leave until they complete it.

- Also, the diet is special - not everyone can stand it.

They are not starving, as many people think, no. Look how slim, beautiful girls they are, not a hint of exhaustion. You just need to know what you can eat and what you can’t. This is work, and you can't escape it. Constant self-control and hard, tedious, monotonous work - that’s the whole secret of success.

- Has Nastya already shared any details of her stay in Brazil?

I know that the conditions there were very difficult. It is difficult to work with the tape there - sometimes it could fly like a jump rope on a stick. The fact is that the humidity there is very high, so the girls had to literally walk everywhere with irons to dry the ribbons.

- What is Anastasia’s favorite subject?

Nastya doesn't have any favorite subject. You need to be able and love to deal with anyone. Working with objects is very difficult. The hoop and the mace weigh differently and fly differently, so you need incredible concentration to manipulate accurately. Despite the fact that the girls work as a team, at the same time, each of them must be responsible for herself, because if at least one ribbon flies in the wrong direction, it will turn out to be a blockage, and it will be very difficult to untie it. All five tapes can connect into one node, and then that’s it - you can’t do anything. And in our issue there was a lot of close cooperation, a lot of contact, so there was a lot of risk.

- Anastasia is 25 years old. Is it about ending your career?

25 years? And what? From somewhere came the stereotype that rhythmic gymnastics is a children’s sport. Nothing like this. If you have health and desire, then you can continue. Did Nastya want to finish? Anything has happened. She was expelled from the national team twice, which was very difficult for her. But Nastya is a fighter, she did not give up. Of course, it happens that doubts roll in. I remember my mother sometimes asking her: “Maybe I should take her home?” But I calmed her down and always said: “No, you don’t need to take her.”

- Do you expect that on this wave of success in gymnastics there will be a surge, that many people will come to practice?

I would not like to say that now we will have a surge in rhythmic gymnastics in Nizhny Novgorod. We never lack children. People come to us from other cities - from Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Surgut. Gymnastics develops and becomes more and more difficult. There is no longer any question of whether it is sport or art. It is hard work.

BIOGRAPHY

Silence (Sergeeva) Natalya Borisovna. Born on July 6, 1946 in the city of Gorky , has a higher education in physical education . At one time, one of the leading gymnasts in the country, winner of the USSR Cup (1968). Participant in the World Universiade, USSR Championship, USSR Cup.

Natalya Sergeeva’s path to learning the secrets of sportsmanship was difficult. She began doing rhythmic gymnastics at the age of ten. Her first coach was Antonina Dmitrievna Skovorodova. After graduating from school, I entered the Faculty of Physical EducationGorky Pedagogical Institute, whereverHave favorable conditions been created for combining study and sports? Ttrained in the section of the Pedagogical Institute, which was led by the initiator of the development of rhythmic gymnastics in Gorky, Taisiya Kirillovna Timoshenko.

“I had an excellent coach Taisiya Timoshenko, one of the founders of rhythmic gymnastics.Rhythmic gymnastics is a Russian invention... It originated in Leningrad in 1934,Whenat the Institute of Physical Culture named after P.F. Lesgaft, the Higher School of Artistic Movement was opened and the main subject of student training was called rhythmic gymnastics.

In 1949, she graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Physical Education. Lesgafta Taisiya Kirillovna Timoshenko arrivedto Gorky, where she began to develop rhythmic gymnastics. With her arrival, the history of rhythmic gymnastics in our city begins.Mom brought me to study with her at 19In 1957, however, there was a time when I went into artistic gymnastics, but then I returned to rhythmic gymnastics. I took a lot from Taisiya Kirillovna: tactical, technical and purely human qualities,” says Natalya Borisovna.

Natasha fulfilled her master of sports standard at the age of thirteen.

She won the city championship, joined the Russian team, and soon the Soviet Union team. From 1964 to 1973, Natalya Sergeeva was in the national team of Russia and the USSR. Over the years, she became a multiple winner of the Russian and USSR championships, and was a participant in the World Universiade. In 1968 she won the USSR Cup. She achieved these results together with Honored Trainer of Russia T.K. Timoshenko and permanent accompanist A.B. Vyshkind. These were the heydays of her happy athletic youth.

However, the time came when the gymnast realized that her sports career was nearing completion and it was time to think about coaching. I came to the Spartak Children's Community Center. The chairman of the regional council, Anatoly Leonidovich Larionov, was delighted: “Come on Natasha, try it! Let's see what kind of mentor you will turn out to be."

Life has shown that she turned out to be the right coach!

In 1980, the athlete went to work at children's sports school No. 2 in the Nizhny Novgorod region, where sports and rhythmic gymnastics were cultivated. She worked for ten years. The girls lived up to the hopes of the young coach. Olga Chernega, as part of the Russian national team, became a two-time champion of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR, the first international master of sports in rhythmic gymnastics in the region.

In 1992, she was offered to create a separate school for rhythmic gymnastics. She agreed. True, there was no basis for serious work. There was only a great desire to raise good gymnasts. I had to work hard. The management of the Nizhny Novgorod Olympic Reserve School provided a gym for classes. Over the years, a strong, efficient team has formed. Big family! Ten coaches work with young gymnasts. Tishina now had the opportunity to go with the leading gymnasts to training camps and be sure that everything would be fine. A creative, friendly environment contributes to the athletic growth of gymnasts. Over the past ten years, eight Honored Masters of Sports, 18 international-class masters, and more than 40 masters of sports have been trained.

And now Natalya Sergeeva, and now N.B. Tishina becomes a coach - she devotes her life to this wonderful sport and trains a whole galaxy of magnificent gymnasts. In the early 1990s, Nizhny Novgorod rhythmic gymnastics reached the European and world level. Over the years the following were brought up:
- Olympic champions - Irina Belova, Elena Posevina, Daria Shkurikhina, Anastasia Nazarenko, Anastasia Maksimova.
- World champions - Irina Belova, Victoria Anikina, Nina Lazareva, Elena Posevina, Daria Shkurikhina, Natalya Pichuzhkina, Anastasia Maksimova.
- European Champions - Irina Belova, Olga Klementyeva, Victoria Anikina, Nina Lazareva, Anna Popova, Ekaterina Malygina, Evgenia Kramarova, Anastasia Honest, Anastasia Makarova, Karina Khairetdinova, Natalya Pichuzhkina, Anastasia Maksimova, Elena Posevina, Daria Shkurikhina, Olga Raspopina, Natalya Vlasova.

Success doesn't come easy. What can I say: coaching is not an easy job. However, when Natalya Borisovna was asked if she regretted becoming a coach, she smiled and replied: “I don’t regret anything. Training high-class athletes is a long, multi-year process. No holidays or breaks. We coaches don't have our time. With us, everything is subordinated to a well-thought-out training process. Don't expect success without this! Maybe someone won’t believe it, but I wasn’t at my daughter’s school graduation party, I couldn’t even attend her wedding. And when Tanya was in the maternity hospital, she found herself somewhere far from home at a competition.”

It is noteworthy that Natalya Borisovna’s daughters, Tatyana and Olga, followed in their mother’s footsteps. While still schoolgirls, they became masters of sports and helped their mother conduct classes with young gymnasts. Both received higher education and became coaches. Soon after graduation, Tatyana began working as a youth team coach. Under her leadership, the girls became European champions among juniors eight times. For these successes she was awarded the title “Honored Trainer of Russia”. Since September 2010, Tatyana has been the head coach of the national team in group exercises. Olga is also an Honored Trainer of Russia and works in Italy. By the way, Olympic champion Irina Belova is currently working on the national team. This is how a new generation of talented gymnasts and coaches appears on Nizhny Novgorod soil. An example for them is Natalya Tishina.

Artistic gymnasts representing our region achieve success on the international stage with enviable consistency. Girls are brought to the heights of excellence at the Nizhny Novgorod Olympic Reserve School, where Honored Coach of Russia Natalya Tishina, who trained a number of famous star gymnasts.

One of the first stars lit up at the XXVII Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, when school student Irina Belova climbed to the top step of the podium. Her initiative was successfully taken up by Nina Lazareva. In 2002, she brought a gold medal from the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, which was held in the USA. A year later, at the European Championships in Germany, the Russian team again surpassed all rivals in group exercises. Our compatriot Elena Posevina made a brilliant debut as part of the national team. In 2004, she distinguished herself in Athens: together with the girls of the Russian team, Elena became an Olympic champion! The school's pupils also achieved remarkable success at the 2006 European Championships in Moscow. They won eight gold medals!

The 2007 World Championships in the Greek city of Patras also ended with the triumph of the Russian champions. The Russian team won the double event. Elena Posevina and Daria Shkurikhina looked good in its composition. A year later - at the XXIX Summer Olympic Games in Beijing - the Russian team, which included Elena and Daria, again won gold medals.

In 2006, at the European Championships in Moscow, Natalya Pichuzhkina, a student of ODYUSHOR No. 16, won the individual exercises among juniors. Then our fellow countrywoman twice became the world and European champion in group exercises. In 2011, at the European Youth Championships, Natalya Vlasova won the gold medal in group exercises.
